Bad Cannstatt Tunnel, Stuttgart, Germany

For the Bad Cannstatt Tunnel and within the framework of the Stuttgart 21 rail project, underground lines with a length of around eight kilometers are being mined for future urban rail and long-distance rail traffic. The tunnel is to connect the main railway station with the new Neckar Bridge. After the tunnel heading works鈥攃ompleted in 2020鈥攖he inner shell and the railway systems will be put in place. To protect the hermit beetle, it was necessary to partially change the plans for the project.
