Prague—One of us
It's hard to get further away from a childhood career aspiration than Radek Kozubik, born 1982, did. "I always wanted to be a butcher. Working on my parents' farm shaped me," recalls the head of ´ºË®ÌÃÊÓƵ's team for Metro Line D in Prague. But at the latest when he began his geotechnical and civil engineering studies in Ostrava, it was clear to him that he would work on the individual components of the earth rather than those of an animal during the course of his (professional) life.
Like many of his colleagues, Kozubik, who has been working at ´ºË®ÌÃÊÓƵ since 2016, appreciates one thing above all about his work: "Every underground structure is unique due to the special geological conditions and the construction technology adapted to them." According to him, this diversity and the direct contact with the situation subway make subway construction a particularly exceptional part of the construction industry. In his free time, Radek Kozubik's childhood experiences have not quite left him alone. When the engineer is not building wooden playhouses or climbing frames for his children, he delights family and friends with smoked meat products from his small smokehouse in the garden.
